BBC presenter Andrew Neil censors Green Party from BBC reports

December 29, 2014

Pride's Purge

(not satire – it’s the BBC!)

The BBC’s Andrew Neil is a Tory supporter.

His first job was as a political adviser in Edward Heath’s Conservative Government.

And perhaps it’s because he’s so right-wing that he’s openly censoring the Green Party from his BBC reports.

Here’s Neil’s graphic from a couple of days ago showing the state of the major parties in the latest opinion polls:

BBC exclude greens

The only problem is that in that particular opinion poll, the Green Party were in 4th place on 8%.

Neil, however, decided to just exclude them from the graphic:

BBC apologises to Greens over dodgy poll reporting

Mind you, to be fair, Andrew Neil obviously isn’t all that good when it comes to statistics.

After all, he once thought people couldn’t get AIDS from heterosexual sex

Thanks also to the excellent Media Lens for pointing this out.

Meet Ebenezer Scrooge 2014: sacking people is “great fun”

December 29, 2014

Pride's Purge

(not satire – it’s the UK today)

Over a hundred and seventy years after Dickens published a Christmas Carol, meet Ebenezer Scrooge 2014:

moulton the new scrooge

You can read all about how Moulton sacked his staff and couldn’t even be bothered to tell them here:

UKIP supporter and fat city cat Jon Moulton sacks 2,727 of his staff on Xmas Day

But Moulton is not just a fabulously wealthy fat city cat who doesn’t give a sh*t about British workers. He’s a prominent UKIP supporter too. And a good example of just how nasty some of the people behind UKIP are.

Here are some quotes:

Moulton on making people redundant: “You can never fire anyone too soon

Moulton’s description of the people he has fired: “cutting away unnecessaries

Moulton on why there should be even more austerity: “It’s the moral thing to do and it’s the right thing to do.

Moulton on why…

Can You Train Wolves?

December 28, 2014

Beyond Highbrow - Robert Lindsay

From the Internet, an interesting question. Since wolves are so much more vicious than dogs in terms of police attack dogs, why not train wolves to take down suspects instead of dogs? As it turns out, we’ve already tried it, and it is a total failure. Dogs, even German Shepherds, are pretty much great big pussies most of the time, and wolves are wicked, savage, untrainable, permanently wild beasts who do not belong anywhere near humans. We have even bred dogs down to where they were 1/4 wolf, and they were still completely wild and untrainable. Amazing.

A friend of mine lived in Alberta, Canada and he told me wolves were everywhere up there. He absolutely hated wolves. “Wolves are a plague,” he said. “If you don’t have any near you, consider yourself lucky.”

A long time back… I trained dogs. A lot of them were for the police. …

Bloodletters and Badmen: Video: Casino Boss Frank Lefty Rosenthal

December 28, 2014

The New Democrat Plus

.

I don’t feel sorry for Frank Rosenthal at all. He knew the risks and consequences that could come from being a professional gambler who associates with mobsters. But I don’t see him as a big time criminal who is really dangerous and needs to be in prison for long periods of time. I see him as someone who was dumb enough to work for and go into business with casinos that were run by the Las Vegas mob. His job wasn’t illegal and what he probably did on the job running the casino he ran, probably wasn’t illegal.

But he still chose to associate with criminals and work for their business’s, which is what got him kicked out of Las Vegas. When what he should’ve been doing, was just be a professional gambler and make a lot of money from that. And run his own business. Stay way from…

We Do Not Assassinate Policemen

December 28, 2014

Moorbey'z Blog

We, the peaceful protesters, DO NOT ASSASSINATE POLICEMEN. And those who do, and those who chant to support such negativity are stooping to the low level of a racist fascist mentality.

Real peoples constitutional democratic civil-human rights revolution is not about a need for violence. Grass roots, middle working, poor and low income peoples revolution is about evolving and re-evolving more progressive politics, i.e., better economic parity, greater environmental ecological standards and practices, and broad social justice empowerments into the hands of the people via legislative policies and practical economic jobs programs that make humane sense. That is what peoples empowerment revolution is about.

The fact that some mentally deranged young person who shot his girlfriend, left Baltimore for New York and then stupidly shot and killed two police officers and himself has little or nothing to do with the peaceful protester’s right to demand and call for justice and…

Ojibway man’s native rights asserted

December 28, 2014

The {Public} Sphere

Originally published in the Tow Row Times on December 23, 2014.

The U.S. government has recommended to dismiss charges of possessing wildlife without a licence against an Ojibway man from the Nippissing First Nation residing in the Town of Attica, New York.

On Feb. 10, 2014, nine Department of Environmental Conservation officers and one Fish and Wildlife Services agent raided John Volpe’s home and confiscated 105 baby snapping turtles and dozens of stuffed birds. They also took down Eagle feathers considered sacred from his sweat lodge and tossed around a 300-year-old wooden pipe “like it was a baseball,” he said in a phone interview.

Volpe, 62, was charged with 190 state and seven federal violations of the Environmental Conservation Law.

However, on Dec. 19, the federal government recommended for the courts to dismiss the federal charges on the grounds that his Native American descent gives him the right to…
