Malaysia Airlines MH370 search crews to launch robotic submarine for first time

Crews searching for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 will launch a robotic submarine for the first time in the hope of locating the plane’s black box.

No ‘ping’ signals have been picked up in the search zone in the southern Indian Ocean since April 8 but officials remain fairly confident they know the approximate location of the box.

Search teams will now launch an unmanned underwater vehicle in a bid to get a closer look at the sea floor in the search zone of Australia’s west coast.
