Dan Stevens: I’ll still watch Downton Abbey


Dan Stevens has said he’ll still be watching Downton Abbey when the new series starts, despite leaving the show last year.

Stevens, who played Matthew Crawley in the ITV period drama, left the show and his character was written out in a car accident storyline as part of the 2012 Christmas episode.

‘I guess I’ll be watching [the fourth series] in sort of two ways,’ the actor told Vulture.

‘[I’ll be] both watching my friends on the set that I know very well, but also just continuing the story of Downton and watching it as a fan. It will be fun.’

The actor also made reference to the new series of the show and the fact that he now lives in Hollywood, where he has moved to pursue a movie career.
